Different Strings is an artist booking agency, representing singer, songwriters and acoustic musicians from the UK, Europe, USA and Canada, set up when the Albert Hole, a renowned acoustic music venue in Bristol, folded after eighteen years.
The agency came about by accident really, when Brooks Williams from the USA asked for help putting a tour together and it's grown from there.
Different Strings is proud to represent these talented artists in the UK; our association with some of them goes back many years as they were favourites on our programme and have become firm friends. There are names already well-known to you and some you have yet to discover, but rest assured they are without exception wonderful musicians and really great people to work with.
We hope you find our new-look website helpful and informative. To select a performer, just click a picture on the side bar or go to the artists page (the full roster is listed here) click on a name and you will be transported to their individual section and an introduction to their work. There are also links to the artist's own website/myspace, where you will find further information and music samples. For demo packages and any other enquiries please do get in touch, even if you aren't looking to book just yet, it would be good to discuss options with a view to working together in the future.
Different Strings aims to provide a professional, efficient, supportive and friendly service, taking into consideration the requirements of promoters and performers alike. Having been involved in event coordination we do have an understanding of what's involved in organising a successful show and how important it is to develop relationships with those we work with.
